We’re excited to announce that CB Insights has named us to its third annual Insurtech 50, showcasing the 50 most promising private insurtech companies in the world.

“The 2024 Insurtech 50 winners are high-momentum companies shaping the future of insurance today,” said Chris Sekerak, Senior Analyst at CB Insights. “From AI-powered products to commercial insurance innovation, these startups are realizing many of the industry's biggest opportunities.”

Driven by AI, telematics, and computer vision, our ability to bring new data led insights to the dynamic landscape of commercial trucking underwriting has gained unprecedented traction. We're passing along both savings and AI-powered safety insights to fleets throughout the US - and making the roads safer in the meantime.

Utilizing the CB Insights platform, the 50 winners were chosen based on several factors, including CB Insights datasets on deal activity, industry partnerships, team strength, investor strength, patent activity, employee headcount, and proprietary Commercial Maturity and Mosaic Scores.

Quick facts on the 2024 Insurtech 50:

  • 500+ business relationships since 2020, including with industry leaders like Swiss Re and Tokio Marine.
  • More than a dozen countries represented, spanning Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
  • $5.6B in equity funding raised over time, including $1B in 2024 so far (as of 8/19/24).
  • 40% of winners are early-stage insurtechs, from AI assistants to embedded insurance platforms.

This award news comes on top of some other major developments: a doubling of reinsurance capacity, the successful raise of a Series B raise last year, and the recent launch of a Non-fleet program with SiriusPoint. Nirvana now operates in 26 states.
