Looking back at 2024: thank you for a great year!

Today Nirvana Insurance turned four and we have so much to celebrate!

As 2024 comes to a close, we at Nirvana Insurance are reflecting on a year filled with innovation, collaboration, and significant milestones that have helped propel us forward in our mission to revolutionize fleet insurance. Thanks to the unwavering support of our agents, partners, and customers, we’ve made meaningful progress in making insurance smarter, safer, and more efficient for fleets everywhere.

Looking back at 2024, here are some of our most exciting appetite and company highlights:

Appetite & coverage expansion

Premier TSPs

This year, we continued our efforts to expand our list of supported ELDs and camera providers.

Nirvana now offers 42 Premier TSPs (34 added in 2024!) for insureds to connect their telematics data and receive a quote for insurance coverage. Our Premier integrations give us the most visibility into a fleet's driving behavior and can earn the biggest discounts— up to 20% off premiums up front for safe fleets. In 2025, our team will continue to work on further expanding this list, so stay tuned for updates as they become available.

New markets and coverages

In 2024, we expanded into 3 key Fleet markets, bringing us to a total of 27 states where we offer coverage to Fleets (10+ PUs).

We also added MS Transverse as a new fronting carrier for our Fleet Insurance Program to scale as demand grows. In a similar vein, we also doubled our reinsurance capacity, further strengthening Nirvana’s position in the insurance industry.

Earlier this year, we began accepting heavy haul operations for the Fleet program. This means operations such as oversize/ overweight and heavy equipment transport are now within appetite for fleets with 10+ power units (home movers and crane/ rigging exposure are still excluded at this time). This addition was born out of feedback from our agents who advocated for how important this coverage was for their clients.

Additionally, this year we launched our Non-fleet Program (1-9 PUs), now live in 10 states. It’s been an incredible year of growth and working with our partners to expand to more and more fleets (check out some of our Nov win stories). In 2025, we’ll continue to expand the Non-fleet program to more states and operations.

Product updates

This year, we invested heavily in our platform experiences both on the agent and customer side. We enhanced the Nirvana Safety Intelligence Platform optimizing the usage of cutting-edge AI and telematics to help fleets reduce accidents and improve compliance, proving our commitment to making roads safer while supporting fleet operators’ bottom line.

For Nirvana, 2024 was also a year of collaboration. We deepened relationships with agents and agency partners through personalized support, expanded educational resources, and hands-on training. By working closely with our agents, we’ve enabled them to better serve their clients and address the unique needs of the fleets they work with.

Here’s some highlights of the improvements we made:

For agents

  • Try our appetite checker - You can now get a preliminary appetite rating before you submit an application. Enter the DOT for any fleet over 10 power units and we'll give you a preliminary rating based on FMCSA data, helping you know which accounts we're more likely to quote.
  • Access the Agent Academy - A central hub for agents to access Nirvana’s sales resources and in-depth training.
  • Invite users within the Agent App - The Invite feature allows users with an Administrator role to add new users to the Agency App, directly within the application.

For customers

  • Access the Partner Perks Program - Nirvana customers can now get more from their fleet insurance by taking advantage of exclusive perks and discounts through our partner ecosystem.
  • Report and track the status of claims online - we’re excited that customers can now report and track claims online in the Safety Intelligence Platform. This means they can now report claims 24/7 by phone, email, or online.
  • Monitor violation notifications online - customers now receive FMCSA violation email notifications, designed to keep them informed within a day of any new violation occurring in their fleet. This is a significant upgrade from our previous monthly data updates and a major step ahead of industry standard.

Company highlights

As we’ve been growing the business through product innovations we've also focused on other parts of the business to help us better serve our agency partners and customers:

  • Doubled the Nirvana team size (we're hiring!) to better meet agent and customer demand.
  • Wowed a customer by resolving a claim in ~2 hours by our in-house claims team.
  • Won our largest account to date, with a policy valued at $1.8M.
  • Used 17B+ of miles of driving data to refine our industry-leading risk models.
  • Offered $17M+ in all-time up front premium savings.

As we gear up for the year ahead, we remain committed to expanding access to fair insurance solutions for trusted coverage for fleets of all sizes, further improving our product and program offerings in 2025 to better meet our agents’ and customers’ need, and strengthening the relationships we have with our agency partners for even more success in 2025 together.
